Basic Residential Services for Children
The ALABAMA DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES, (hereinafter referred to as “the Department”)
seeks qualified Vendors to provide one hundred ninety-two (192) statewide slots of Basic Residential
Services to children in the custody of the state. These services must be provided in a congregate care setting,
and must consist of room, board and a basic array of services for a child with mild and/or occasional emotional
and/or behavioral management problems that interfere with the child’s ability to function in the family, school
and/or community setting in other than a residential environment. This basic type of placement should be
limited to children whose needs cannot be met in their own home, traditional foster home, or children who have
reached their treatment goals in a more restrictive setting and are ready to be “stepped down”.
